Default 2004 Pilot Idle Problem

Still trying to resolve idle problem to sell vehicle. Idles normal until warms up, then rpm moves between 750 and 1200. Idle goes normal when put in gear and driving. Check engine light code says replace idle control valve. Have replaced the idle control valve three times and still have idle problem and check engine light on.

Each time the code says replace idle control valve. Frustrated.

When you get a check engine code, it doesn't necessarily mean to replace a certain part. In your case, the problem can be the idle control valve, the wiring/power/ground/poor connections, the PCM, or some other item causing the idle control valve to not stabilize the idle. Most of the time, the component (idle valve in your case) solves the issue.

What is the actual code you are getting? They start with the letter P and have four numbers, like P1234.

Was any work done on the car right before you had the idle issue, or did you have any other issue like a vehicle accident?
