My 2004 Accord Coupe V6 MT with ~170,000 miles started throwing P0335/P0385 (CKP Sensor A/B malfunction) codes, cranked for long durations prior to starting, and sometimes the engine would cut out "suddenly" during acceleration at 3,500 rpms. I checked the crank position sensor connector per the 2003-2004 Honda service manual V6 Supplement (11-124 & 11-125) and all voltages checked out appropriately and it directed me to replace the sensor. So I purchased an OEM sensor and replaced it (and performed a timing belt/water pump/thermostat replacement as long as I had it all pulled apart). When I started it after reassembly, it seemed to idle rough. I have no way to clear the CKP Pattern since I don't have access to the HDS, but I attempted to perform the CKP Pattern Learn procedure. After doing this and idling it several times and then driving for about 10 miles, the engine ran quite smoothly at idle and during partial throttle normal driving. However, if I accelerate aggressively enough to get the engine to 3,500 rpm, it very reliably "cuts" the engine off (perhaps cuts ignition?) and throws P0345 or P0395 (CKP Sensor A/B Intermittent Interruption). The engine "cut" feels just like before I replaced the crank position sensor, almost like a rev limiter.

Does the CKP pattern need to be cleared with HDS in order for the vehicle to operate properly after changing crank position sensor?

Do I perhaps have a bad sensor? I don't recall seeing any damage on the pulse plate. Thanks for any suggestions.
