I have a 2005 Accord V6 EX. Per Honda recommendation, it only needs 87 octane gasoline. I live in Bakersfield, CA where in summer times, temps can be well over 100 degrees. I currently have about 38K miles on the car. I am the original owner. I notice once in a while I swear I hear something like engine knock type sounds. Has anyone who owns the current generation Accord with the V6 engine experience anything similar? I there is TSB for this? Other than that, car runs great. I get 21 MPG around town and 29 on HWY. I think thats excellent for a 240HP V6.

knock sensor could be faulty or wiring to it can be.............

 

Is it constant or does it pause for couple of seconds and srats agein. I had a simular problem. Turns out it was that
plastic cover that sits over the intake (not the filter box) that was loose.

 

Its intermittant. It happens alot sometimes, other times it runs fine. I think I am going to make a appointment with local dealer and have it checked out. Car has warranty till 100K so might as well use it.

 

You're paying for it you may as well use it!
