Went to a dealer with recall notice in hand. My steering pump growels when cold. Dealer gave me an estimate for 711.00. Went to the parts dept. Asked if there was a o ring at inlet to the pump between the recalled hose and pump. Manager produced a updated o ring (red high temp). $.89 cents. Took 4 minutes to change it. Problem solved! To make it worse, I advised the service writer that I was a fleet manager and master mechanic of 40 years . 10 mechanics in my fleet shop. And I knew the growl was from air entering the PS pump. List of parts needed, resevoir, steering pump and fluid change. Honda fluid had 1000 miles on it. They said it was burnt. Called Honda corp. They said dealer would contact me. Dealer did not. Contacted Honda corp again and they blew me off. They do not care that their dealer is a thief. They sent me a survey asking how happy I was with the Honda corp representative.
