Programming The Auto Door Unlock Settings

Hi guys. I just picked up a 2006 Honda Accord SE. I love the car except the auto lock and unlock feature is not activated on the car. I did some research and found that it can be programmed.

I found instructions on The two sites below. However, it's not working for me. When I press and hold the unlock side of the master lock switch for 10 seconds, nothing happens; I don't hear any clicks. Am I doing something wrong?

Any insight or help is appreciated! This is driving me crazy!

To program all doors to unlock when you shift to Park:

1. Close all doors, Shift into Park (P)
2. Turn the ignition switch to ON (II)
3. Press and hold the unlock side of the master lock switch for about 10 seconds. In that time, you will hear three clicks.
4. Within 5 seconds, turn the ignition switch to LOCK (0)

 

7th generation Accords (2003 - 2007) did not have customizable settings for the doors to automatically lock and unlock.

8th generation Accords (2008 - 2012) had that feature, it is in the owner's manual.

I just bought a Accord and I just read above that its not possible to program the locks.
My key will when unlocking the car actually lower all the windows if i hold the unlock button down for more than 10 secs.
I think it also had auto lock when leaving the car say 10sec after closing the doors.
Recently I had to replace the battery and the auto lock doesnt seem to be working.
Are we sure that 2006 Accords cant be programmed ??
