hi, i have a 2008 accord 2.4L 2 door that ive least from brand new and ever since the kms started to go around 60 000 kms it was hard on oil ... around 2 quarts per 3000 kms im just wondering if its normal or not? i have 110 000 kms now and still doing the same. it seems like all the new models are a little hard on oil... i have a friend thats a mecanic and he says that it could be normal if the engine revs up high alot it hard on oil but since its all accord fans on here i figure someone could get me a perfect answer thank you.

 

Doesn't sound normal to me. Used to have a 2003 (same engine) and didn't do that.

Check the timing chain tensioner. There have been stories about that, but I'm not real sure of the details.

With longer & longer oil-change intervals, it IS getting common for some people to never look at their oil dipstick. Ever. It's good that you catch this before the engine does something bad to itself.
