Default 2009 Accord Coupe V-6 stolen today - how?

My beautiful coupe was stolen today. How was it done? It was locked and the anti-theft indicator was blinking when I last saw it. How was it done? Or at least how do they typically do it? More importantly, if I can afford to replace it what can I do to prevent another heart break?

If someone wants to steal your car, then they will accomplish it. I am not familiar with the specifics of how the anti-theft precautions work on the newer accords.

My guess is that someone hot-wired the ignition switch, so the ECU thought that the proper key was in the ignition?

Those vehicles that are supposedly theft proof are not tow truck proof.

They can always hook up & tow the car away. Then dismantle it & sell the parts. They don't need to EVER start the engine.
