Hi. I'm not sure if this is the right place to post, so I apologize if I messed up.

I have a 2009 Honda Accord EX-L, 4 door, 4 cylinder, and everything is stock...I've made no modifications to it. I'm not really a car guy...which is why I bought a Honda (low maintenance).

Anyway, I've been having some trouble with the headlights. On my car there's 4 settings: Off, On, Auto, and Brights. I used to just leave it on Auto...so during the day I'd have my daytime running lights...and then when it got dark, my normal headlights would turn on automatically. Now when I set it to Auto, my brights turn on no matter what. Furthermore, when I switch it between Off and On, I see no difference in brightness. It just looks like my daytime running lights are always on.

So to summarize, the way my lights appear to work now are:
Off = Daytime lights
On = Daytime lights
Auto = Brights
Brights = Brights

Does anybody know what might be causing this? Does this appear to be an electrical problem? or do I need to replace the bulbs?

Any suggestions/help/comments are appreciated. Thanks!

 

Don't shoot me but I have to ask, you have tried to "dim" them? Is the "blue" bright indicator on (using the wifes 07 Pilot as ref). Check your owners manual but there should be something on the dash telling you the "bright/high beams" are on.
