2009 Accord Squealing Brakes
#11
Honda started using a very hard, high ceramic content brake pad compound to ensure the pads would last thru the warranty period.
The result of the HIGH CERAMIC COMPOUND is the rotors & pads get glazed and make the high pitched squeal noise.
Wagner Thermal Quiet pads are a little bit softer compound, yet do not cause 'dust'.
I've used them several times with no problems at all.
Of course if you drive it like you stole it, you probably will have glazing problems no matter what pads you use.

Just google 2009 or 2008 Accord brake problem and you will see it is a problem that Honda corporate has not addressed yet. There is another Honda forum thread with discussion about this but I felt I better not post the other site. Here is a car complaint site that has many complaints. The more people that contact corporate the more that word will get out.

The recommendation by hondadude above did the trick. I picked up a set of Wagner Thermoquiet pads for the front disc brakes and installed them two weeks ago. Not a peep from the brakes since then. The pads cost $45.00 minus the $15 Wagner rebate = $30. It took all of about a half hour to put them on.
It just wasn't worth my time and aggravation to deal with the ridiculous excuses the dealer gives about the problem.
I hope this helps.
