2010 Accord V6 AT SB 11-033
Hi all,
I just read about this bulletin regarding oil consumption and it looks like it applies to my car. 2010 Accord EX-L V6 without navigation. I have owned the car for two oil changes (bought the car from my mom, she was the first owner), and at each oil change they said it was a quart low. I didn't really think much of it until I read about the service bulletin. Will Honda do this software update for free? Is there any reason why I wouldn't want to get this done? Any other suggestions or advice? The eco mode is kind of annoying when it comes on and off all the time but I drive pretty passively most of the time so no biggie.

Yes, exactly. Oh that is normal? I didn't know that was normal. I thought it was a little odd. So everything is probably fine?
Using one quart of oil between oil change intervals is generally normal. Your car has the maintenance minder, the interval levels differs depending on engine operating conditions.

However, it does not monitor oil levels, you still have to check the oil level and top off as necessary.
The TSB 11-033 software update may help regardless.
Note: Technical service bulletins are not recalls, unless specifically noted as related to a recall; generally, they are to help Honda technicians with known issues. Issues noted in TSBs do not necessary apply to all vehicles. Normal warranty applies.
On a separate note:
There was a a powertrain warranty extension for the V6 as a result of a settlement of a class captioned, Soto et al.v..American Honda Motor Co., Inc., Case No. 3:12-cv-1377-SI (N.D. Cal.). American Honda is extending the powertrain warranty to cover repairs related to engine misfire (that triggers DTCs P0301 through P0304) to 8 years with unlimited mileage from the original date of purchase and has settled a class action based on this remedial measure.
The warranty extension does not apply to any vehicle that has ever been declared a total loss or sold for salvage by a financial institution or insurer, or has a branded or similar title under any state’s law.
CORRECTIVE ACTION
Inspect the vehicle and, if necessary, clean the pistons,
and replace the piston rings in the affected cylinders.
