3rd Gen - '88 Accord LXi won't Pass CA Smog
Does anyone have any thoughts on how to pass California Smog for a 1988 Accord LXi?

Happen to have the test results?
To start with, without the numbers. Are the tune up items up to date? Check for stored codes (ecu is under the drivers seat, view the light from behind the seat with the key in the "on" position-pos II). Ignition timing is?

when you went for the smog test the shop should have told you whats wrong with the car. under california smog laws they are obligated to fix it for a set price depending on the year of the car as long as all the emission components are intact.
find a shop that does smog repairs along with inspections.
