6th gen. valve cover bolts
I am having trouble working on an Accord. It is a 2.2l VTEC. I removed the valve cover which was on there pretty well and removed the bolts. Then I took off the seals and was getting ready to put the new ones on. The hole in the seal is a lot smaller than the lip on the bottom of the bolt.
I tried lubricating the bolt and seal in clean oil but still couldn't get it thorugh. I also tried warming the seal to make it stretch more. I ended up tearing one of the seals, then stopped to ask for help.
Any tips?

RE: 6th gen. valve cover bolts
Since you said 2.2L engine, is this for a 5th gen accord?
I remember mine were tight on those bolts and thought that I had the wrong parts. I think that I used some oil and slipped them over the bottom of that bolt, then put the seal/bolt into the valve cover.

I meant the 2.3l vtec. It's a 2000. I was pretty sure I had the right parts. I finally got them on. I had to put them in boiling water for a minute to loosen up the rubber. I did try using oil and a lot of force but tore one that way.
