Default 87' Accord DX idling high?

I replaced the carburetor on my 87' accord this morning and now it is idling very high(between 3-4 rpm) I thought it may be the fast idle but when i eased off of the clutch it pulled like i was giving it gas but my foot wasn't on the gas pedal. I dont know if i hooked up a vacuum hose wrong or something. I would greatly appreciate any help you guys could give! Thank you

Well, you want to start with checking the vac lines. Next be sure the choke is opening properly.

Is/was this a used or a reman carb?

all vacuum lines are in the correct place. it's acting as if it's getting too much gas..

Be sure the choke is opening all the way.

Is the alt/charge warning light on?

You might need to set the idle speed, since this is a reman unit I don't think they would have set it.

Be sure the throttle cable is going "slack".....then the idle adjustment is on the back side (firewall) of the carb.

there are 2 screws, one on each side of the carb. Do you know what they are for? my father came and adjusted what he thought was the idle adjustment but ended up being those screws. thanks for the diagram btw

....pic's? I'm trying to think/remember what/which ones you are talking about.

I "think" the mixture and fast idle are on the "side" but really can't remember right now.........sucks getting old.
