Does it just sound like fast spinning with no sound of each cylinder coming up on compression? What about a broken timing belt?

Is it very difficult to change the timing belt, I'm sure it's overdue for it's second ?

Not too bad on a 89 Accord....the biggest concern is going to be about the valves. Hope, pray that they did not get bent if the timing belt went.

Can you pull the top timing belt cover off and check the belt?

Melody, I deleted your other post because it was in a completely unrelated thread. Like Poorman says, the bigger question is whether your valves are bent.

I also had a miss in it, after a heavy rain. Do U possibly think it could distributor related, since the car hasn't started since one of last months heavy rain ?

I think the question about bent valves is most important. Assuming the starter can crank the engine, I would take out all sparkplugs & measure compression. That would put away our GUESSING about bent valves. We can't hear it from here, so we only have your statement about it turning over more rapidly.

Then you can test for spark?
