Default 90 Accord heater not blowing cold

So here is the scenario: I bought a 90 accord lx with the 2.2l a while back. The temperature **** was stuck toward the cold side (pretty sure this is cable driven and the cable needs to be replaced). So I did a little research and found out there is a little valve on the other side of the fire wall that the cable controls. So I manually turned that valve and the heater was working like a champ. Soon after this my water pump started leaking and the alternator started to show signs of it starting to go out, soon after it did go out. Around this time the heater stopped blowing warm air despite the valve still being in the hot position. I had assumed this was because the water pump wasn't properly circulating coolant through the heater core, but I've since replaced the water pump and timing belt, and it still blows cold air. I'm kinda clueless at this point, is there another valve or could this be a fuse?? any help would be greatly appreciated as Colorado winters are a little cold!!

The valve that controls the coolant going through the heater core is in the engine bay near the firewall on the passenger side of the car. It is below the cruise control/throttle body.

See if turning the **** in the car turns the valve in the engine bay. You may need an assistant to try this.

Did you bleed air out of the system when you refilled the coolant?

That value you're referring to is what I turned originally turned that made the heat warm. The value turns the ****, but the **** doesn't turn the value, due to a bad cable I believe, either way it's in the warm position. Yes I bled the coolant system and the thermostat is good.

When the engine gets hot, feel both hoses going into the firewall. Check that they are both hot. That can help determine if you have a clogged heater core.
