Default 90 Accord Rough Shifting Transmission

I bought my first Honda a 1990 Accord auto in pretty good shape. One owner 66 K( verified by Carfax, Autocheck) Although I have heard that this is a fairly common problem with the 90-93 model my main concern right now is that the transmission shifts rather harshly. Can anyone tell me how I can possibly smooth out the shifting, what trans fluid you recommend, should I have the filter changed when doing a fluid exchange even though I'm not sure if it was done before, and what do you think of Lubegard. Any help would be greatly appreciated.

drain and fill with honda atf and add 1 can of lube guard for imports. if trans fluid has never been changed do a flush with honda atf using a machine that makes your trans suck in new honda fluid as it pumps out the old stuff and then add 1 can of lube guard for imports
