Valve cover-9ft lbs......not that much, less than a spark plug (~13 ft lbs) to give you an idea.....we are talking about the ones that hold the cover on/gasket down.

I use a 1/4 dr 10mm socket and go from there.

 

O k I put everything back together now and drove it around. Everything works including the speedometer. I have noticed that the transmission seems to be shifting kind of hard. The fluid is a nice pink color and it is full so is there a way to maybe adjust a cable or something to have it shift a little smoother. At idle it shakes a little when your at a stop sign so I'm thinking it needs to be cleaned out a little bit. It also needs a CV joint replaced but I can't complain because I did get it for free!

 

First, check the mounts. Then if they are good, look into setting the throttle control cable so it has the proper adjustment/movement.

 

Is there some kind of write up on this forum about setting the throttle control cable?
I didn't see anything on it. How would you go about checking the motor mounts?
