91 accord Dx seat belt problem
The automatic seat belts stopped working and the chime that sounds when you insert the key into the ignition has stopped.
My daughter had problems with the ignition. I looked at the car and found that when you turned the key to the second position there were no lights on the instrument panel. You could start the car but when you let the key go it would die.
I replaced the electrical part of the ignition switch and solved that problem However the seat belts and the key chime do not work. I checked the fuses under the dash and under the hood and all are good. Could it be the main relay?
I did a search and found teggers pages but it did not say anything about the problem I am experiencing.

RE: 91 accord Dx seat belt problem
The main relay only powers the fuel pump and indirectly the injectors.
Honda has a lifetime warranty on seat belts, so you should be able to call a dealership and have them do the repair.

RE: 91 accord Dx seat belt problem
I did some reading and found that if your car has ever been declared" total loss" then no warranty. Unfortunately mine has.
Any other help would be appreciated.
I am thinking that it has something to do with the ignition (key cylinder) or electrical switch in some way but I haven't figured it out. Also with the chime not sounding when the key is inserted makes me believe that. There is a small switch that is on top of the key cylinder, is that part of what activates the chime and allows the belt to move forward when the key is removed?
