Default 91 accord vss not working

I couldn't figure out how to add my car to my garage, but I have a 1991 Honda accord Ex 2.2 L. Since i received the car the speedometer jumped around a lot. I touched the wires on the vss to try and locate it and after that it completely died on, reading at 0 no matter what. I got my hands on 4 different (scrap yard) sensors and exchanged it. It worked fine the first day then it started reading at zero until i had driven for about ten minutes. After that it would work fine so i decided to switch it again but now the spedo stays at zero even after driving for an hour.

I checked to see if the tiny rod that goes into the sensor spinned without the sensor on and it did. I also tested the black and yellow cables and they both seem to be ground, this is what im guessing the problem is. I dont know what else to check any help would be appreciated. I hope i make sense im very sleepy and i dont think im writing cohesive thoughts.

A bad connector? You "touched" the wires and things went bad. Go back to the bone yard and get the harness that goes to the VSS.....splice it in - be sure you have a good connection. See what you have from there.

So you were right, I came home the day after this post and the car had been taken to the mechanic(much to my wallets distress). The mechanic ignored everything i had already done and put a new vss, different cluster and when all that didn't work he checked the cables that connect to the vss and found the problem. Had i had that car one more day i would be 100 dollars less poor. Anyways thanks for your help sorry for the late reply.
