What the...???

Um, is it just me or shouldn't there be an O-ring in there?








So, for about $22 I bought a full set of O-rings/seals and a Receiver Dryer unit. I'm shocked to find there is no O ring in this hose connection, at least a broken or corroded O ring. That would totally explain the leak right? The nut was cranked on pretty tight and it still leaked horribly, so I can't believe this part would be meant not to have have a ring.

Yes, there should be an oring in that joint.

This discovery suggests the "retrofit" may have been very poorly done. A new receiver/drier should have been installed, and high side fitting also.
