Default 93 accord charge light off

Sorry, hadn't had time to search, new baby just born, running to get other kids, etc, you know the car will break.....it did. My charge light will not come on, and my battery last about 2 miles. I can ground white/blue wire on alt and it comes on. I think the alt is bad. But I don't just have $100 I want to chance. Anything else you can advise?
Batt voltage not running 11.8
While running 10
With lights it drops to 8 in about 5 seconds and keeps going
This may be generic, but I'm in a bind needing my car going, thanks for any help. Just the light being off confuses me.

It does sound like an alternator or wiring problem. Check all the battery and alternator cables and wires first.

If it is the alternator, you may be able to get away with just an alternator brush pack assembly replacement. Your car uses the same brush pack as the 5th gen Accord as shown in this thread:

your static voltage(car off) should be no less than 12.6v, dynamic(car on) between 1.5v - 3.0v higher than your static reading.

like red said, inspect your battery cables for corrosion, any frayed wire shields, etc..

if that tests good, remove your alternator and have it tested at autozone for free to be certain.
