I have a 93 Accord 10th Anniversary edition. The only interior door light that comes on is the passenger side front door. Also the dome light will not come on when the doors are opened but will when I switch it to the on position. My dash lights show that the front passenger door is open but not the three other doors. I have checked all the fuses and replaced the bulbs. I have pulled the dome light apart and also the door panels off and checked the connections. I have done as much research and trouble shooting as possible but am unable to pinpoint the cause. Thanx in advance for any feedback.

 

A few things. Pull the door jam switch on the drivers side and be sure it is not rusted, the rust on the switch can sometimes not allow the ground to "flow".

Is there or has there been an alarm system installed on the car?

 

The front passenger door is actually the only one that works properly. When I open it the door light does come on. The lights on the other three doors do not come on. As far as alarm there was an alarm when I bought the car almost three years ago. It has been disconnected but all the wiring and the alarm itself are still there. The other issue is the dome light not coming on when the doors are opened. It will come on if I switch it to the on position though. Thank you for the reply.

Yes what ever door is not working, check the door jam switch for rust. Let's see if that get the door lights and indicator on the dash working. The wire to the switch is a ground, so if you remove the switch and slide it out, then remove the wire, ground it and see if the light comes on....I didn't want to just jump to the safety indicator PCB testing just yet.

Well I checked the door switches as you said. The front drivers side was missing completely. The other 2 are worn and dirty. Going to replace all 3, maybe all 4 just to be safe. Hopefully that will fix the dome light as well. Thank you again for the tip

 

Well, lets hope for the best.......You could prob find these in a bone yard for almost nothing ~$15 for all four ???

I'm hoping for the best on the dome light, but I have to be honest and say that it might be another issue.

 

Well I went to the local pick a parts yard. Got all 4 for $5. Now all 4 door lights as well as the dome light comes on when the door is opened. Thank you so much for the help. Cant believe I missed something so simple and easy. On a side note... I opened the door with the keys in the ignition. Even the chime works now lol. Thanx again ^^
