93 Accord LX 4dr sedan Brake Warning Light
Hello all, any help would be appreciated
My (new to me) 93 Accord has the Brake malfunction light illuminated unless the e-brake is off AND I press the brake pedal very hard. With the pedal released it stays on.
Sometimes it flickers on and off when pressing the pedal, but mostly remains on unless pressing the pedal very hard.
Side note: the pedal goes halfway before brakes hold.
Stops ok, but feels to me like the pedal is going too far before they grab
The previous owner replaced the master cylinder, and I have bled the brakes thoroughly. No leaks found, no puddles in the driveway.
Disc front, drums in the rear

This part confuses me "Brake malfunction light illuminated unless the e-brake is off"
Does it feel like you only have front or rear brakes working? Have the rear brakes been inspected and adjusted. If you have only one system working it is usually the master and sometimes the proportioning valve.

you might want to chk the little rubber stopper at bottom of brake switch , if it's worn or broken would make brake light stay on
also a faulty switch in the brake master could make light stay on

Thanks to all, I found that the connector boot at the replacement master cylinder connector was torn and the wire was shorting to ground at the strut tower bolt. I insulated the connection and works as designed
Thanks again!
Thanks again!
