2018 accord 1.5t head gasket
I have a 2018 accord sport 1.5t that has 72,000 miles that shows signs of head gasket failure. The car went into limp mode right after changing oil , oil filter and cabin filter. Car had a 1 cylinder misfire code. Replaced the plugs with NGK , same as were in the engine and plug boots. Car ran fine for about a month and a half. It went into limp mode a week ago, restarted the engine and was ok for a week no codes. Car misfire again two days ago. Came up with a 3 cylinder misfire code. Checked the plugs, oil and noticed the coolant was low. I’m going to check the compression tomorrow, waiting for an adapter for a 12mm plug. From what I’ve read about this engine I’m preparing for the worst. If the gasket is blown I’m looking at doing the work myself. My questions are has anyone on this forum replaced a head gasket themselves. If so do you have a recommendation for a good quality replacement gasket set and any tips I could use to get it replaced. Also wondering how long I can expect the turbo to last and if I should replace it now. I’m not sure how much longer I can expect it to last.
Thanks, Dan
