Default 94 Accord AC fan problems

Howdy all, I have a 94 Accord wagon with a non-VTEC 4 cyl. Recently the fan has stopped blowing. It doesn't matter whether it's on AC or heat, but no air comes out of the vents. Every now & then when I hit a bump, it'll come on for a minute or two.

I am guessing it is the fan speed switch since it can be jolted back into a working state, but thats just a guess. The amount of wiring back there is overwhelming, and I havn't the slightest idea what to check first.

Can anybody help?
Is this a common accord issue?

Thanks, I love the Accord, but my girlfriend won't ride in it until I fix it. It IS Texas, after all...

I'd start by getting a repair manual and taking the dash trim/climate controls out. Check the wire harness on the back for loose pins and maybe even take the back off of the control and see if the switch is making poor contact.

Or you could replace the controls with some froma junkyard.

Sounds like the switch and not the fan itself.

there is a write up in the DIY section,, no air from vents,, take a look see if that helps ,,could be a bad blower motor

I'll bet dollars to dimes the brushes in the blower motor have worn down to a nub.......replace the blower motor is probably the answer.
You can turn the blower on HIGH and with the key on reach up under the glovebox and smack the motor to see if it jogs on. Caveman test ! !

I did the 'caveman' test, and just sarted jiggling wires, and it came back on. It appears to be a bad connection where the black&yellow wire go into the blower assembly at the far right.

Thanks.
