Default 94 accord did stock swap clicks when battery hook up

Just put a junkyard motor in my car hooked up battery and it made a click coming from firewall. Car turns over without stepping on clutch have no radio or clock. And when key is out of ignition the check engine light stays on?

Grounds might cause some problems, but I don't see grounds causing Check Engine light to remain on w/ keyswitch Off.

good luck

May be a problem with the clutch safety switch (aka starter inhibitor clutch switch) or the wiring for the switch.

For the manual transmission, there are two clutch switches near the clutch pedal. The one located a little higher up is the starter inhibitor clutch switch, which prevents the car from starting if the clutch is not fully depressed. The one located lower where the stopper pad contacts, is if you have cruise control on and press the clutch pedal, the clutch switch will cancel the cruise control set speed.

The switch or wiring may be shorted. Try unplugging the switch and see what happens.
