94 Accord ex e-brake problem and OBD Q:
Ok my brother just bought a 94 accord ex ( i believe it has 4 disc brakes). He bought it from an old lady for a great price. As I was following him home. I smelled something burning. He pulled over and I started siniffing. The left rear brake is still engaged (it does not drag though it spins ok).
Here is the catch I think it might be the ebrake got stuck casue the car has been sitting on the smae spot for over 18 months. It was the lady's husbands car who passed away. So my question is If I take the wheel off and spray the brake area minus the brake pads. would it loosen up the brakes (disengage it) ? Or what are my alternatives? THe kid was so excited I hate to see him not able to drive the car.
Second is I have a 97 ex its OBD II his is 94 but there is no OBD connector is that normal? Or where can I find the plug. mine is behind the ashtray. but on his there isa spot for it but noplug.
I thank you in advance for your time.

His car is OBDI so it is different. It has a connecter down by the brake pedal I believe. As for the ebrake, sounds like the cable, or the brake itself has seized. Take off the wheel and see if you can get the ebrake to disengage, if not find out if its the cable or the brake itself which is seized and replace.

The 94 being OBD1 will have a BLUE 2 pin connector behind the glovebox/above the passengerside kick panel.
Jumper the connector and turn on the key to get a 'flash' code

Remove rear wheel & check for dragging brake.
Pull on the cable & work the lever/crank that its attached to. You have to figure out if the cable is sticking or if its sticking INSIDE the caliper.
