'94 Accord Intermittant Fail To Start
Daughter driven, out of state (college) repair request. I drove to the car, checked fuse to fuel pump (good), checked fuel gauge (1/4 tank) and tried to start engine. Sprayed starting fluid into intake hose as she engaged starter, engine fired and after several short burst of either, engine was running fine. Bought her , her very own can to use if needed. Engine has started every time until today. Same symptoms. Where does the fuel rail have a check valve and is that where the prime is lost ? Car has 203,XXX miles. I am leaning towards a fuel filter replacement as I am guessing the filter has a check valve built in. Anyone ever experience this problem or have a solution?

The check valve is part of the fuel pump.
She can turn the key from the off position to the II position and not try to start the car. When the check engine light turns off from the bulb check, she can try starting the car. The fuel pump turns on for about two seconds to pressurize the system. She can repeat one more time to ensure there is fuel in the rail. Then try to start the cart.

Update post. The issue was the " main relay or fuel pump relay" beside the steering column. I psoted this update , due to the fact her sister had a '94 EX Accord and passed it down to the youngest and last week the same symptoms appeared on the the second car. I remembered the symptoms and picked up another relay. This forum is a blessing for us toolheads that are too stubborn to buy newer cars.
