Post 94 Accord Timing??

Hey so afterputting a new timing belt on, once trying to start the car it sounded like the engine was spinning with no resistance. What might cause this? I took it apart again and timed everything up. Now my lanlord says with a smart mouth " don't give up or in 2weeks you gotta take that **** to the dump!" I just spent 500 into this bucket get aftermarket ****. I can just consider it junk now. Need help, anybody? What should I look for? Or does anyone know any estimate of what a shop may charge Me to get a car to turn over and run?

Oh by the way everything works, light access, fuel pump, etc. Just wont start! Spins freely but belt is tight.

Ya no compression. That's the term I've heard used before. What generally do I need to do?

I hate to suggest this but sounds like your valves might be bent... therefore no compression.

If engine was turned over while timing was out of adjustment its possible that pistons hit valves and bent them. I don't know for sure about 94, but I do know that 90-93 have "interference" engines... I had timing belt break while driving. Easiest fix was getting head from junk yard (had already been resurfaced and pressure tested) and replacing it, rather than trying to replace valves.

I hope this isn't your problem, but sounds likely.

If you have a compression tester you should check each cylinder and see what you get. My 91 and 92 accords had 150-180 psi on each cylinder. No compression would imply a serious problem with valves.

I had my head off to do a gasket change, I did not get the head resurfaced. Maybe that's my prob? Prior to the gasket change the car still did not come on to where its driveable. It was always spat white smoke and Rev high n low. One day it just did the same **** then droped to zero. It never started again. Always got close but never actually fired up. Did the gasket change found gunk. Since putting everything back together now when I try starting it just sounds weird not like a ts-ts-ts more of something just spinnging Idk how to explain. Have fuel, spark, battery.
