When I shifted into Park at work the shifter felt like the button didn't release, then when I was going home the car didn't want to shift out of park and the button didn't press in. I had to use the override key switch and shift it into neutral, then it started and felt fine. WTF?

 

It may be due to the brake switch signal. Check if the brake lights come on when the brake pedal is pressed.
