my son let his 94lx with 231000 miles sit for 4 months after that it would no start. i put in new plugs,wires distributor cap rotor buton and valve cover gasket. When i started the car it sounded like the muffler was gone. i drove it and it has no power. everytime i would go up a slight grade the car would almost come to astop. the guy at the muffler shop said the cat and muffler were good. another guy said maybe a burnt valve. any help would be appreciated.

 

A burnt valve would cause low compression. Did they measure compression or do any other tests to confirm or rule out a bad valve?
