Default 95 Accord help please...Stumped.

howdy all, I have a 95 Accord w/vetc 4 cyl that is driving me insane. What happened was I got in it to go somewhere and it had no power at all, I mean it topped out at 25mph. It doesnt want to rev at all and it will only rev to 4600 rpms, While it is doing this it sometimes backfires out the exhaust and the tach jumps around. It did clear up a few times (ie ran horrible then fixed its self then cuts back out all while going maybe 500 feet. So far this is what I have done:

Replaced dist with a know good one.
Replaced ECM with a known good one.
Changed all 4 injectors.
Replaced fuel filter
Drained gas in case it was bad (no change)
Fuel pressure is dead on at idle or WOT
Plugs Wires Rotor
Timing is Ok
Cat converter is Ok

The problem is in all 4 cyl's as unpluging the wires one by one shows a rev drop in all 4 the same.

EGR seems OK

Could it be something in the VETC system? It just seems strange it could run so bad an then clear up only to do it again as soon as you stop then take back off from a stop light.

What are the symptoms of a bad MAP sensor or TPS?

I hope someone can help me a bit, I am very desperate right now as I will lose my job if I dont get my wheels fixed...

Thank you so much in advance.

Steven

I would take off the upper timing cover to check whether your camshaft timing has jumped.
How many miles & when was the timing belt replaced?

Jumper the BLUE 2 pin connector behind the lower right of the glovebox; Turn on the key and check for a flash code on the CEL.

Here is an expanded set of instructions that have pics of what hondadude suggested.

http://www.dhost.info/accordinfo/howto/cel.html

Count the check engine light for ECU code(s), and count the D4 light for trans control unit code(s).

When you replaced the distributor, did you get a new ignition control module and coil with it?
