I'm pretty sure it cycles by ground. The hot is "hot" all the time....again, why we are all chasing the ground. Now I could go back and re-check the diagrams and think about splicing from the ecu to the the ac compr relay. Not sure what else ties into that.......TCU, fan control(?).

Pahonda or Texas, any idea of how I could bipass the problem with a toggle to ground?

I'm not sure where you would put a toggle switch. It may be easier to run a new red/blu wire.

I have a couple of questions:

Did you clean the grounds yet? Bad grounds can cause all kinds of strange problems, and I think your problem qualifies.

Do you know how to release pins from electrical connectors?

No sorry havent cleaned the grounds. Yes I know how to release pins. If running a new red/blu would work where would I run it from? that sounds like a better idea.

Clean those grounds first and see what happens.

I would unplug the a/c wiring harness shown as number 16 in the picture in post #81. I think that the connector on the bottom of the picture plugs into the main wire harness. You want to check for continuity to ground on the red/blu wire of the main wire harness. The problem could be in that section of the wiring harness.

I would release the red/blu wire from the TCU to see if the problem goes away. You would eliminate the TCU that way. The pin labels are in that shop manual and I mentioned them before.

There are some other items I remembered that I wanted to ask, but I am too tired right now to read all of these posts. Something wasn't making sense. I'll post tomorrow.

A bypass might work, but would be my last resort. PA's suggestions sound good to me. A good place for a short is a connector w/ a damaged pin or socket.

good luck

Im at my last resort here guys. Ive worked on this for years, and spent at least $500 or probably more on this and just want it fixed. So if theres a way to bipass this Im going to do that, but I just dont want to do it wrong. Thats why I asked for advice on how exactly to run the toggle, or if possible replace the red/blu.

Here is the problem that I see with the toggle switch. The ECU may be falsely detecting that the a/c is turned on, so it will try to adjust the air/fuel mixture to compensate. If it was me, I would put the toggle switch right at the compressor relay. I still think that you should pull those pins on the ECU and TCU to verify.

The red/blu wire runs from the a/c compressor relay, around the abs unit, then under the driver's front fender and connects to the main wire harness near the a/c diode. Then the red/blu wire goes along the main harness behind the steering wheel, radio, glovebox, to the ECU. The problem that I see with the is that the red/blu wire may be fine, and the ECU is grounding the wire, so the problem may be somewhere else.

Ok, so theres a red/blu going to ecu, and another going to tcu? And you want me to pull each and then see if the problem still happens right? Thanks again for all the help and patience.

PA: I see the diagram showing the pins. Can you tell me which numbers to pull on the ecu and tcu for this test please.
