Default 95 Manual trans, upgrade options?

Can anyone tell me if there is a transmission that has possibly better gear ratios than the stock LX tranny in my 95? I have a bad axle bearing right now, but I'm wondering if it's even worth tearing apart to fix if there's something a little sportier out there. possibly EX?? Tahnks in advance.

I think that both the EX and LX/DX manual transmissions are the same thing.

A prelude tranny would be geared differently and definitely sportier. I don't know enough about swaps to ensure you that there is a direct bolt-on for you accord.

The H22 manual tranny has shorter gearing for better acceleration. A common thing to do is to use an H22 tranny with a F22 5th gear set swapped in for better gas mileage.

h series trannys will work on f series motors(minus the f20/22c). I ran a M2B4(JDM LSD Lude tranny) on my F for a while. You are looking for either the M2B4(LSD) or M2Y4(non-LSD) trannies

for example here are the gear ratios
M2Y4:
1. 3.285
2. 1.956
3. 1.344
4. 1.034
5. 0.812
FD 4.266

M2B4:
1. 3.307
2. 1.950
3. 1.360
4. 1.034
5. 0.787
FD 4.266

P2A4(stock accord):
1. 3.307
2. 1.809
3. 1.185
4. .903
5. .685
FD 4.062
