im new working on hondas have a problem with hard starts intermintent running hot and almost sounds like up against rev limiter at 3500 my brother just bought this car cheap and trying to help him out. plugs and ignition parts look good and found crank position sensor unpluged (plugged it back up)had a code 4 is y i found that. itold him to pull thermostat out to see if that helps . any help would be great . thanks

 

Did you clear the code? Pull the fuse to reset the ecu, just be sure you have the code for the radio if it is a factory radio.

Personally, if you are going to pull the t-stat, might as well just replace it. Cheap try. You might also want to verify that the cooling fans (BOTH) cycle on and off when the car is running.
