please please please can someone help? i have just bought a 2003 honda 2.4 vtec accord and i couldnt get the sat nav to stay on ( when i started the engine the screen would go blank and flash off and on every now and then) however when i took the dvd out the sat nav wouldnt work but i could use the other controls on screen. so i went on the net and found a way of updating the sat nav so i did it and now all i have is a green progress bar on screen that never moves. any ideas how i can reset it???????

to reset it you'll probably need the radio code.... if it's not in the glove box and you don't have it then you could probably get it from a honda dealer with your vin code.... Pull the negative battery cable for about 5-10 minutes and that will reset everything.

If it's still doing the same thing then chances are it's stuck in an update phase and that's written into memory.... you may need a dealers help.

Yea it sounds like your BIOs may be corrupted or some other software related problem. You may have to take it to the dealer to get reflashed, if they can even do that there. Jhowkins knows the system in and out so maybe he knows a way to reflash it.

EDIT: Spelling

There was a recall on the 7th generation head units. You may want to check and see if yours was recalled. Honda may replace it for free.
