96 Accord LX....Air filter Issue
Someone please tell me the trick to removing the cover to the air fliter on my 96 Accord LX.
The air vent that comes up from the bottom goes over the front edge and I can't figure out how to get the cover off. Was able to remove the air fliter but now the cover doesn't line up right with the screws to put it back on. Please advise.

Your post is a bit confusing. If you got the air filter out, then you had to remove the cover.
I know that sometimes mine doesn't quite line up. You can pull the cover from the intake hose, so you can position it over the new filter. Then just push the hose back into the cover.

1. (Optional step, if you want a little more wiggle room.) You can remove the intake tube if you like by just pulling straight up with your hand, no tools needed. The parts diagram shows it in broken down into parts, you do not need to unscrew the screw, etc. Just pull the whole tube straight up.
2. After you loosen the bolts, lift the air cleaner housing cover up.
3. Replace air filter and re-align the upper housing cover with the lower housing cover where the bolts go back in.
4. Tighten the bolts. Do not over-tighten; otherwise, the threads may get stripped.
5. If you removed the intake tube in step #1, just align it with the resonator chamber hole and push it back down.

once you remove the 4 phillip screws from the cover it comes right up, .. you might have to wiggle the cover a bit ,, on the above picture ( first 1 .. where the arrow points to it it says optional ),, you removed it correct?? just pull it straight up ,,
,Question .. you got the correct filter ,, right ??
