Default 96 accord starter installation

Hello,

I replaced my starter on a 96 Honda accord. This is the first time I did repair work on a car. Quite happy with myself. I must say, the 14 mm bolt, the one closest to the windshield, was PITA to get out. I had to use two 3in extension because of the way my Stanley ratchet worked. I had to press a button on the head for it to slip into the extension.

Anyways, during the process, I mis-identify a bolt and tried to loosen it. My ratchet wrench slipped on it. Now I need help with identifying the bolt so that I can properly torque it if needed be.

While putting back the air filter, I twisted a capacitor-looking thing. A pic is included. What is it? Should I be concern?

Also, when I start up the car, I hear a high pitch noise. It doesn't seem to be the vacuum lines. After the car warmed up, the noise goes away. Any ideas?

Thanks

Mystery bolt appears to be a M8x1.25 trans/engine connector. Torque is 20 ft-lbs. If M10x1.25, the torque is 32 ft-lbs. Use a short extension on ratchet to ease bolt access.

No idea what capacitor thing is. Too little field of view to locate. Image very dark.

High pitched whine may be power steering pump suction inlet air leak. Look for bubbles in PS reservoir. If yes, then suction air leak at pump or inlet hose is likely.

Check DIY forum for links to download manuals. Any year 94-97 will work for your model.

Always post a new problem to a new thread for best results and clarity.

good luck
