96 accord V6 rpm question
Hey guys. I recently bought my first Honda. A 96 accord V6 auto with 128,000 miles.
I was wondering about what normal rpm range is while driving for this engine. At 60 mph this cars runs 2500 rpm. I thought that seemed a little high. I've used the search function on this forum but haven't found anything detailing rpm range for normal driving.
It's a 4 speed auto. I've read up a little on the torque conversion lock up(it was new to me I'd never heard of it). My car does tend to drop around 200-250 rpms once I hit 35-40 mph, but it still seems like it runs high. 70mph it goes above 3000rpm.
I'm not very tech savvy, but any help would be greatly appreciated.

I don't know the rpm ranges for each gear.
Since you just bought it, I would do a drain and refill on the transmission using Honda ATF. Search L7_RsnD8hAU on YouTube for a good video.
You may also want to stop by a parts store and have them scan for codes. Your connector is behind the ash tray. Post any codes found on here, they start with the letter P and have four numbers, like P1234.
