Default 96 accord wont start

i have a 96 accord 2.2 5 speed. it was working fine and then i went to start it and got nothing. all the lights/stereo came on like normal and did not dim once key was turned. I also get no crank or noise once key is turned. I first tried replacing the ignition switch and got the same problem. the only way to get the car started to is to pop the clutch (which i know is harmful). with this being said should i attack the clutch switch or the starter next? how do i diagnose a clutch switch issue? thanks!

Sounds like you have a starter problem or wiring problem. Do you hear one click when you go to start the car?

The quickest test for the wiring is to use a volt meter on the smaller wire (blk/wht I think?) going to the starter. Have an assistant turn the key to start and hold it there. That wire should have 12V to ground (use a valve cover bolt for ground).

If no voltage at the starter, after doing the above, then go for the clutch switch-inhibiter. There are two on the pedal so be sure to test the correct one.
