In your case, for the crank bolt, instead of oiling the bolt, I'd use red loctite. Mainly because the end of the crank is so messed up from the previous dare I say mechanic trying to get the lower crank gear off. Otherwise I'd follow the Honda instructions completely. Happy 4th.
Oh, and that crank pulley holder tool can be rented from the Zone or O'Reilly's. I had to get one to work on my wife's car, and just bought. I've used it on two other Hondas since.
