So The heat/AC always blows through the vents and when i press the defrost or feet button, the lights change to that position but the air still comes out of the vents. I've tried looking for what could be wrong and cant find anything. any suggestions on what this might be?

97 Accord LX 2.2L 4cyl V-TEC MT

 

This could be mode control motor or Fuse 8 (under dash). check fuse first.

If fuse is good (likely since mode selection lights work), then you'll need to run through the diagnostics to confirm mode control motor. See DIY forum, Online Manuals post and download the 94-97 Accord Manual. The AC/Heater section has the diagnostic flow chart. You will need a Volt-Ohm Meter (VOM) to perform the checks.

Manual will also guide replacement of mode control motor if necessary.
