Cool 97 Accord SE DS window problem

Good day all,

I have had a problem ever since I owned my car, about 125K and 3 years ago.

When you lower the drivers side automatic window, then raise in back up to close it pops out of the seal at the top of the window, leaving a big gap.

I usually open the door and raise up the window, and with my right hand push in on the top window glass as it is coming to the top.

This will allow it to pop in and seal correctly.

I took the door panel off a few years ago, and it looked like you could adjust the window to angle slightly from horizontal. My window seems like as going up, it pushes out slightly away from the car.

Any ideas?

Thanks,

JM

I would remove the door panel. I would lubricate the tracks with silicone paste (not silicone spray). It is a bit pricy, but should help the window slide.

There is an adjustment procedure in the 94 shop manual. Go to the common DIY threads on the top of the gen tech help forum. Click on online shop manuals. The honda-tech site has the pdf of the shop manual.

Page 20-14 shows the adjustment procedure on the glass.

The Ericthecarguy site has a video on replacing the run channel, but you can see how to remove the door panel and what to use to lubricate the inside of the channel.
