Default 97 Accord Wagon Return Power Steering Hose

Have a 97 accord wagon with a leak in one of the return hoses that goes back to the reservoir, Its the top ones that hooked to the reservoir that runs down to the cooling tubes, My problem is I don't see any way to get them, The bumper it in the way, Cant get to it from the bottom, I dont want to have to take the radiator out or the bumper off. Any Ideas for a little help? Thanks in advance for any help..

If you can't get to it w/ grille removed, I think you'll have to remove radiator. No help in shop manual on this subject.

Perhaps someone else has tackled this job.

good luck

4 or 6 cyl?

Look for a fairly recent post from Tek310 (? might have the number wrong). He has a 94-95 (same gen) and recently went thru something pretty close. If his post doesn't help answer the question, try sending a PM to him asking for more details.

I went out side and looked at my 5th gen (4cyl), if I understand your question, I'd go thru the lower grill opening. Stcuk my hand thru the lower grill (using a flashlight as it is dark) and I could getmy hand on the four clamps that hold the two hoses....just me.

They come in handy Should have seen them in action doing the PS pressure hose on the 89 LX

Now, the lower grill openings on the 97 might be different but I'm 99% confident I could do this on my 95 thru the lower grill

The grille is very easy to remove. Two snap-in connections and 3 screws from memory.

good luck

TexasHonda is referring to the grille and I believe you're possibly referring to the air flow opening in the bumper.

I JUST did this... Unfortunately I had to remove the bumper.

It wasn't too hard but I warn you... beware the clips under the headlights!!!

If you need any help with it just ask.

EDIT: heres my thread... https://www.hondaaccordforum.com/for...rywhere-43431/
