97 Honda Accord Trowing Codes!
I got the codes read on my 97 honda accord 2.2 non-vtec and the only code it was trowing is PO401. "Exhaust Gas Recirculation Flow Insufficient Detected". What would cause that? I also would like to know what would cause a code of PO104....just because i think the girl that read the code might be dyslexic. The PO104 code is "Mass or Volume Air Flow Circuit Intermittent" The car runs fine. The code just popped up out the blue. Any and all help is greatly appreciated! I really need help on this one as i am used to carbed vehicles! The car does have headers!

You can also push the diapragm on the EGR valve. This should allow exhaust gas into the cylinders, and the engine should start to run like crap. If this doesn't occur, then there is a clog and the exhaust isn't reaching the cylinders. If it does occur, then the valve might not be getting the signal from the EGR solenoid or the vacuum line is broken,

Thansk for the input i will give it a try tonight. Has anyone else succesfully fixed this code? I have read a lot were it will comeback. Also how do i reset the computer? I had a probe that i disconnected the neg bat term and pressed brake for 3 secs. Is it similar?

RE: 97 Honda Accord Trowing Codes!
you have a problem that needs to be fixed...completely stop thinking about just erasing the code. if you egr isnt working right, even if the check engine light is off you wont pass emissions at all/

yea the egr wont make the motor run bad it will just make it not pass emmissions. on v6 hondas the ports that lead the the egr get clogged and a 200 procedure needs to be done and then the check engine wont come on for that problem ever again. with your car........it may be that the egr itself went out and needs to be replaced. i havent really heard of the egr ports clogging on your model but its possible depending on the fuel that has been used and the style of driving.
