99 Accord EX coupe V-6 dies shortly after starting. No CEL codes
I have a 99 Honda Accord EX V-6 with 287,000 miles on it that starts and quickly dies. If you wait a longer period of time to try restarting it will run for a bit longer. It sat outside for about a week between being started in temperatures that were below freezing one or two nights before this problem started. It has 1/8 tank of gas. If I get it started and try to apply gas it immediately dies. Unplugging the IAC does not change anything. Trying to jiggle the key when it is running does not change anything. The cap and rotor look OK. The spark plugs look newer and the gap in the one I pulled was correct. Eric the car guy made the comment that rarely do Hondas have fuel pump failure. I can hear the pump come on and it sounds normal.
Any suggestions on what to check?

Your next step would be to test for spark with a spark tester or old spark plug while you have an assistant try to start the engine.
You may want to add a few gallons of gas to your gas tank and add a gasoline antifreeze like Heet to the tank.

Just a few ideas...
1) you have 1/8 tank of gas. It's possible you had condensation collect in the tank and water it preventing it from running well. Try filling up the tank with gas.
2) your problem shouldn't be something like bad spark plug. 1-2 sparkplugs won't make an engine quit. it's either NO spark, or no fuel.
3) do you have a camshaft sensor? If it is bad, it would make ALL your injectors stop working.
4) Your said you checked your distributor cap. Maybe it's the ignition coil?
5) what about a clogged fuel filter?

I've even done that on my Chevy Astro van.
It really makes you feel like an idiot.
