99 Accord Spark Plug Tube, Pulled some piece out. Not sure what it is.

Make sure you haven't scratched up the metal surface with that screwdriver. That would make a leak path. If you have any scratches (especially deep gouges) use a little bit of grey goop there too.


This looks worse than it is due to bad focus but would it need the goop treatment and if so would I dry the goop before installing the seal because I was planning to help that process with a coating of oil. Note all I did here was touch screwdriver to rubber and tap until it fell out, don't know how that could scratch.

Light coat of oil and you should be good to go.....I'm hoping that is the tube seal area.

Yes. The brightest aluminum is where the seal rests and the area above it is the walls that hold the seal. So just oil and not sealant + oil. Good to know. I was worried it would leak. Thanks.
