Just don't get frustrated if you don't get answers quickly. Most of the members here are on when they are slacking off at work. I'm rarely online during the weekend .... and I'm taking off Mon. and Tues.

try an easy test, find the pressure switch located rt side frt of car by the rec drier , unplug the connector, jump the 2 wires together ( blue/yellow and red/white ) if fans and compressor engage most likely system is out or very low on freon ,,,,,

if you have a set of gauges you can hook them up and chk the pressures

try this first and let us know

okay, I'll jump those buggers. I'll say this... though, I've tired using a ac re-charge, and it said I was all charged up. So I'm thinking it's something else.

Do you mean a recharge bottle with its own little pressure gauge?
Then maybe it IS something different.

A manifold/gauge set is better because it shows low AND HIGH side pressures. If the pressures are good and it works when you jumper the pressure switch, then its probably a bad pressure switch.

Auto Zone stores have or can get U a DVD titled "Diagnosing and Repairing Air Conditioning Systems" part #ACVID1and it costs very little. I too am a noob and it helped me alot. The store also offers a loan-a-toolprogramif you need guages, system flush kit, etc.
