Default AC Issue

I live in the middle of CA, where 100+ degree summer days are the normal. My AC is not working and I'm in need of some advice and/or input.

When I press the AC button it turns on, but no cold air comes out.

I checked to make sure that the compressor would come on, and it didn't so I got a new compressor. However, that wasn't the problem. I jumped the compressor directly from the battery, and it started working.

I've replaced the relay but it doesn't seem to have fixed the issue. What else could be the culprit, other than the wiring? Could I be missing an extra fuse or something else that I haven't checked?

Please help.

What year and trim is this?

What are the pressure readings, high and low side?

It's a 2002 Ex. I have not measured the pressure (H & L) and am not sure how to go about do this. I added freon while jumping the compressor but it didn't seem to blow cool air after that. Could it be that I have a leak? Could that have something to do with the fact that hte compressor doesn't kick on when pressing the AC button?

the FIRST thing in any a/c diagnosis is to hook up to a machine or gages and see what you have in the system first...***** nilly dumping freon in a system is silly (hey that rhymes) ...and yes, the compressor will not come on if the system is low or empty.

Did you or someone pull a vac on the system after the compressor install - should have held that vac for 30~45 minutes with pump off, this is "a" test for leaks - before you tried to refill the system?
