Accord 2.0 1988 LX, AT d3 & D4 gone out

Unhappy Accord 2.0 1988 LX, AT d3 & D4 gone out

Hi all.
USA Accord 2.0 full AT LX mdl. 1988 carburator eng.
Suddenly, D3 & D4 combinatios, do not Works; stay into 1st and when wants to upchange, engine runs free, as clutch disengaged... Pos 2, and Reverse, working fine...Firmly and powerful... Clamp set in Parking, working intermitent, no path detected... Drained all AT liquid and refill with fresh correct liquid.- No solution. -gear 2 or R engaged, do not stall engine RPM;normal.
Of course I NEED SOME IDEA HELP...

See attached chart of symtom to likely faults. Most or all are internal transmission faults that require removal/overhaul to address. Probably time to consider rebuild or replacement.

I am sure your AT can be repaired, but finding a local repair shop w/ demonstrated track record, etc is your job. Finding a salvage on a vehicle this old is not a good bet,...likley to get something w/ problems as bad as yours!

There may be options to import a rebuilt AT, but shipping costs may be punitive.

Might want to try and pull the 3/4 shift solenoid and check the screen. Clean it and reinstall. Costs nothing to you if you are a DIY type of person and may solve the problem.

Either way, must I remove the box and open it?

The 3rd gens didn't use solenoids.

OP - based upon your location, finding a used trans might be harder than what most of us would find here in the states. As stated, you might call/search around for a shop with a good rating and see what they will charge to re-build yours.
